Instructions:
- Prepare the prawns: Rinse the live prawns under running water to remove impurities.
- Seasoning: Place ginger slices and a pinch of salt and white pepper inside the prawn’s body cavity for added flavor.
- Steaming: Place the seasoned prawns in a steamer basket. Steam for 8-10 minutes or until the prawns turn bright red and the meat is opaque.
- Serving: Serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauce, such as soy sauce with ginger and spring onions.
Tips:
- For added flavor, you can also add garlic and chili flakes to the steamer basket along with the prawns.
- To test if the prawns are cooked, pierce the thickest part with a skewer. The juices should run clear.
